Good Morning to all of you present here.

I feel honoured to welcome you all.

I deem it an honor and a privilege to present the report of the college during the academic year 2021-2022 on this wonderful Day. I express my deep sense of gratitude to the Lord Almighty for the spectacular growth of this institution.

Sree Abiraami Arts and Science College for Women (SAWC) was established in the year 2016. The aim of the institution is to “Empower Women through Quality Education to the socially and economically backward female students of this region”. The college is run by Sree Abiraami Educational and Charitable Trust, Gudiyattam approved by Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. This is the first women institution in Gudiyattam located in Keelalathur Village on Gudiyattam to Katpadi main road, just about 30 Km from Vellore, a health and educational hub.

The college is situated in serene and greenish atmosphere with high-tech infrastructure and spacious class rooms enabled with ICT facility, well equipped laboratories, computer lab, digital library, 24 X 7 Wi-Fi accessibility and hygienic canteen. 30 buses are operated covering 70 Km radius from the college for the benefit of the students.

The college offers 8 UG Programs and 2 PG Programs. The management and the faculty members have dedicated themselves in creating the environment which supports the vision of the college. In order to achieve this goal, the institution conducts seminars, guest lectures, conferences, symposium and other activities in regular intervals

The first and foremost step of NAAC Accreditation IIQ submission was successfully completed on 26th May, 2022

In the academic year 2021-2022, our students attained 100% pass results in the odd semester examinations.

Ms. S. Mageshwari student of Business Administration has secured first place with gold medal in the Thiruvalluvar University examination during the academic year 2017-2020.

I appreciate all the Teachers, who have encouraged and motivated the student to score well in their exams.

Activities of the College
  • To be born as a woman itself a great boon, the institution celebrated Women’s day on 08th March, 2022. The institution celebrates women’s day on 8th march of every year, this year the Women Development cell celebrated the Women’s day in a grand manner, various games and events are conducted for students and faculty members.
  • 6th Annual Sports Meet was celebrated in the College grounds on 20th May, 2022.
Department of Tamil
  • The Department of Tamil organized “Parambariya Unavuth Thiruvizha” in the college campus on 18th May, 2022 wherein the students exhibited Tamil food Heritage.
  • The Department of Tamil and Tamil mandram organized a Speech competition on 13th December 2021 on behalf of 140th Birthday of Magakavi Bharathiyar.
  • Tamil Mandram and Department of Tamil celebrated Puratchi Kavinjar” Bharathidhasan Birthday on 29th April-2022.
Department of English
  • The Department of English and Department of Mathematics jointly organized a Virtual Power Seminar on “Developing Interpersonal skills” through Google Meet on 11th June, 2021. The Resource person was Ms. B. Jyothsna Tulasi, Associate Manager of ICT Academy.
  • The English Literaria Association conducted an Inter-departmental competition “ABILIT-2022”, on 24th April 2022 in which the students exhibited their talents in poetry writing, poetry recitation, elocution, tongue twister, monologue, mime, and enactment.
  • The Department of English conducted Intradepartmental competition “Oxford Hub”on 25th May 2022 in which students showed their performance in Literary Quiz, Fashion Parade, JAM, Connection, Words Art, Pencil Sketch, and Calligraphy.
  • Mrs. Suganthi. K, Assistant Professor of English presented a paper on “Emerging Uses of Technology in Language Learning” in the 11th National Virtual Conference on Transformational Practices in Language, Literature and Cultural Studies organized by SRM Institute of Science and Technology. She also completed a NPTEL Online Certificate course on “Effective Writing with Elite Certification”.
  • Ms. Vinitha. M, Assistant Professor of English attended the “IPR Awareness/Training program under National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission on 11th March 2022. She completed a NPTEL Online Certificate Course on “Effective Writing” with Elite Certification. She also presented her research paper in various conferences on:
    • 1. “Arousing Students’ Motivation in ESL Classrooms: Increasing and Enhancing Participation, Interaction and Production”
    • 2. “Teaching Stylistics: Current Trends in Language Literature and ELT”,
    • 3. “English Language Teaching: Challenges and Strategies From the Indian Aspect and Linguistic Scenery” and
    • 4. “Trends in the Study of School Scapes”.
  • Dr. Alok Chandra, Assistant Professor of English published two books titled “Perennial Wisdom”, and “Reflections with Emotions”.
Department of Business Administration
  • The Department of Business Administration and Chemistry jointly organized a Virtual Power Seminar on “Stress Management” on 07th June, 2021. Mr. Imran Ahmed, Director, Infinite Edge Training and HR solutions was the chief guest.
  • The Department of Business Administration organized a webinar on “Situational Leadership” on 12th August, 2021. Dr. S. Balamurugan, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Management, Periyar University was the resource person.
  • A webinar on “Digital Support for Career Development” was organized 26thAugust, 2021 by the Department of Business administration. The resource person was Dr. K. Binith Muthukrishnan, Associate Professor of Nehru Arts and science college, Coimbatore.
  • The Department Business Administration organized Intradepartmental event “Celestial 2021” includes various competitions such as Paper presentation, Business Quiz, and Mime were conducted on 15th December, 2021.
  • The Department of Business Administration organized an activity based program “WEALTH OUT OF WASTE” on 27th April 2022.
  • 4 Students of Business Administration completed NPTEL online course on Soft Skills Training on Interview Readiness
  • 4 students from the Department of Business Administration completed a certificate course on various subjects such as Project Management, E-Marketing, Economics, Human Resource Management (HRM).
  • 8 students from the Department of Business Administration completed a certificate course on various subjects such as Principles of Management, Smart English Basics for Professional, and Introduction to Affiliate Marketing
Department of Chemistry
  • The National Science Day was celebrated by the Department of Chemistry on 28th February, 2022 in which the Chemistry Department Association, ‘Chemstorm’, was also inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. D. Gowthaman, Principal, DLR Arts & science college, Arcot.
  • As a part of the curriculum, the Department of Chemistry arranged Industrial visits to Tirupattur Co-op Sugar Mills Ltd, on 24th March, 2022, and Hatsun Agro Products Ltd, Kanchipuram, on 10th May, 2022 for the students.
  • Department of Chemistry and Mathematics jointly organized a virtual Seminar on Zero Shadow Day, which was held on 25th April, 2022. The chief guest was Mr. Kannabiran, Secretary General Assistant, Tamilnadu.
  • Department of Chemistry organized Potluck (communal lunch event) on 15th February, 2022.
  • To learn about the scientific significance of Culture and Art the students from the Department of Chemistry were taken to the Archaeological Museum of India, Vellore fort, Vellore on 10th May 2022.
  • Mrs. P. Megaladevi, Assistant Professor of Chemistry attended a Faculty Development Program which was conducted by ICT Academy from 28th June, 2021 to 2nd July, 2021.
  • Ms. Mani Priya. M of III B.Sc. Chemistry won IIIrd Prize in a district level Declamation contest conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and also received 1000 Rupees Cash Award on 12th December 2021.
  • Ms. Swathi. V of III B.Sc Chemistry cleared a monthly test conducted by Medhavi National Scholarship Scheme and received rupees 1000.
Department of Commerce and Commerce with Computer Application
  • Department of Commerce & Commerce Computer Applications organized a seminar on ‘Personal Finance &Investment Management for Beginners’ on 25th APRIL 2022. The resource person was Dr.P.GEETHA M.A, M.Phil, PhD Associate Professor, Department of Economics, GVG Visalakshi College for women, Udumalpet.
  • Dr. C. Prakasam M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., M.P.E.D., Assistant Professor of Commerce and Commerce CA received various awards as Semmozhi Selvar Viruthu, Mozhi Semmal Viruthu & Semmozhi Thandral Viruthu.
Department of Computer Science and Applications
  • The Department of Computer Science and Application organized a webinar on “Growing Opportunity in Cyber Security” on 08thSeptember 2021. The resource person was Mr. Manoj Kashyap .R, Founder, Ethical Byte, Bengaluru, India.
  • A three days online workshop on “Digital Pedagogies For Effective Learning” was organized by the Department from 7 -9 July, 2021. Mrs. L. Sankara Maheswari, Mrs. D. Pavithra, and Mrs. S. Preethi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Applications from Sri G.V.G Visalakshi College for Women, Udumalapet were the Chief Guests.
  • A webinar on “INTERNET OF THINGS” was organized by on 28th JULY 2021. The resource person was Dr. A. Saleem Raja, Assistant Professor, Department of information Technology, University of Technology and Science-Shinas, Oman.
  • Aafiya Afsheen from III BCA got 1nd Prize in a district level Declamation contest conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and also received 1000 Rupees Cash Award on 12th December 2021.
  • A Guest Lecture Program on “DATA SCIENCE” was organized by Department of Computer Science and Applications on 22ndApril 2022. The resource person was Dr. G. Ramesh Kumar, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications C. Abdul Hakeem College (Autonomous), Melvisharam, Ranipet District.
  • N. Komathi of III BCA won the 2nd Prize in District Level Speech competition conducted by Tamil Nadu Government on 29th April 2022. She will receive received cash prize of rupees 10,000 from Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K.Stalin in the Secretariat on 3rd June 2022.
  • Six students from the Department of Computer Science completed NPTEL online course on Python for Data Science.
  • Mrs. R.SWATHI, Head of Computer Science and Applications, presented a paper on “IOT enabled Agriculture in Smart Drip Irrigation System” organized by Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous), Trichy. She Published a BOOK CHAPTER “An IoT-Based Energy Meter for Energy Level Monitoring, Predicting, and Optimization” in “Challenges and Opportunities for the Convergence of IoT, Big Data, and Cloud Computing”. She also published papers in various journals titled
    • 1. Android Based Advanced Attendance Vigilance System using Wireless Network with Fusion of Bio-Matric Figer print and Authentication’.
    • 2. ‘Smart Assistance for Visually Impaires and Blind People’ and
    • 3. ‘IOT enabled Agriculture in Smart Drip Irrigation System’.
  • Mrs. L.SUGANTHI, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Computer Applications, published two books named as An Overview of Operating System and Programming with ASP.NET.
  • Mrs. D.NARAYANI, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Computer Applications, published a book ‘Java and Data Structures’
DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS
  • Department of Mathematics organized a webinar on ‘Vedic Mathematic’ on 12th July 2021. The resource person was Dr.K.Indirani Associate Professor and Head Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore.
  • Department organized an activity based program REUSE FROM WASTE on 9th April 2022.
  • The Department of Mathematics made a special to celebrate the Christmas function on 24th December 2022.
  • On 29th April 2022, the Department conducted “MATH FEST & MATH QUIZ 2022” for the students
  • Mrs. Jeevitha .S., HoD & Mrs. Priya R Assistant professor of mathematics have completed a NPTEL online certificate course on GRAPH THEORY with Elite certificate.
Other Activities of the college:
  • The students of NSS and Green Campus Cell students regularly clean the campus on 5th of every month to maintain the campus neat and clean.
  • Green Campus Cell and Eco club jointly organized a World Earth Day program on 22nd April 2022 and took the Go Green Pledge
  • Covid Vaccination Camp was organized by NSS, YRC, RRC and Health club on 3rd January, and 9th February 2022.
  • Health club and Youth Red Cross club jointly arranged “Basic Pranic Healing – Course” for four days on 11th, 12th, and 25th March 2022 and 21st April 2022. The special guest of the event was H. Pavithra, Founder and Managing Trustee of the Nimir Foundation, Instructor of the World Pranic Healing Foundation, Chennai.
  • Health club and Youth Red Cross club organized WESAK PROGRAMME – 2022, yoga training program on behalf of Buddha Poornima. The chief guest was Ms. L. Monisha Bharathi, Pranic Healer, MCKS Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Foundation Trust, Chennai, in which students and faculty members around 1200 members took part in meditation.
IIC:
  • The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) registration was done on 7th March, 2022.
  • IIC & Research Cell jointly organized “IPR Awareness Programme” for the students and faculty members through online mode on 11th March, 2022. Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan A, Examiner of Patents & Design officer, IPR office, Govt. of India, was the chief guest of the programme.
ECO Club:
  • The Eco Club organizes No Drive Day to encourage the use of bicycle, and save the environment twice every month on 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month.
  • Eco club members participated in a one day “Terrace Gardening training” program organized by Arivu thottam on February 1st 2022.
  • Eco Club conducted “Health and Environmental protection” awareness program on 8th April 2022.
Health Club:
  • Health Club organized a "Personal Protection from Calamity Awareness" Camp on 26th November, 2021.
  • Health Club and Arivu thirukovil jointly organized a five-day Yoga Workshop was organized for the faculty members from 21st to 25th February 2022.
  • Health Club conducted Health and Environmental Protection Awareness on 8th April2022
NSS:
  • The NSS unit celebrated Karmaveerar Kamaraajar’s birthday as Kalvi Valarchi Naal on 15th July 2022.
  • NSS students planted saplings on 14th August 2022 in the college campus.
  • Thanthai Periyar’s Birthday was celebrated as “Social Justice Day” on17th September 2022.
  • NSS and GGG Rotaract jointly organized a Covid Vaccination camp on 27th August 2021, 30th October 2021, and 1st December 2021.
  • The NSS celebrated Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday as Youth Awakening Day on 15th October 2021.
  • NSS and GGG Rotaract collaboratively organized Mobile Health Camp on 23rd October 2021.
  • NSS Unit, GGG Rotary Club in collaboration with CMC, Vellore jointly organized Medical health camp for disabled persons on 27th October 2021 in.
  • NSS organized an Anti Corruption Awareness program on 28th October 2021
  • The Constitution Day was celebrated on 26th November 2021 by the unit.
  • The NSS unit an organized Rain Water Harvesting Awareness and Nehru Yuvakendra Vellore Branch on 24th December 2022.
  • The National Deworming Day was celebrated by NSS unit on 11th March 2022.
  • The NSS conducted an awareness program on World Water Day through forming Water droplet model and also took a pledge (save water) on 22nd March 2022.
  • NSS unit conducted Voters Awareness contest on 28th March 2022.
  • The NSS unit started an initiative called “Good Bye to Plastics” from the campus on 11th April 2022
  • Dr. B.R.Ambedkar’s Birthday was celebrated as “Equity Day” on 14th April 2022.
RRC
  • RRC organized AIDS Awareness Program on 2nd December 2022, in which Mrs. S. Manju, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematic College was the Chief Guest.
Tamil Mandram:
  • Tamil mandram and the Department of Tamil organized a Speech competition on 13th December 2021 on behalf of 140th Birthday of Magakavi Bharathiyar.
  • Tamil Mandram and Department of Tamil celebrated Puratchi Kavinjar” Bharathidhasan Birthday on 29th April-2022.
Women Development Cell:
  • The Women Development Cell organized an awareness on Cyber Crime on 7th April 2022. The Chief guests were Mr. K. Sundharamoorthy, ADSP, Mr. Ramamoorthy, DSP, Mr. A. Sathish Kumar – SI Cyber Crime, Mrs. V. Kavitha, Head Constable, Mrs G. Malathi -Police Constable, and Mr. k. Parthiban, Police Constable.
  • Women Development Cell had celebrated Mother’s Day on 7th May 2022.
YRC:
  • YRC organized an awareness program on Deworming on 21st September 2021.
  • YRC conducted Breast Cancer Awareness camp on 20th October 2021, in which the keynote speakers were Dr. R.Sowmiyalakshmi and Mrs. B.Dhanalakshmi, Athi Education Group of institution, Gudiyattam.
  • Youth Red Cross club conducted Yoga on 20th October 2021. The resource person was Mrs. Jayalakshmi Psychiatric Arts Forum, Gudiyattam.
  • YRC organized an awareness program on fire accident called “Fire Accident Free Diwali” on 26th October 2021.
  • An awareness program on Tuberculosis was organized by YRC on 21st March 2022.
  • YRC celebrated World Nurse Day on 12th may 2022 by felicitating nurses from Pasumathur Primary Healthcare Centre.
TO CONCLUDE
  • It is with a thankful heart lifted unto the God Almighty, I place on record the achievements of the academic year 2021 – 2022. The institution in its march towards excellence has to incorporate new trends and accommodate other demands. The corporate effort of people who helped in translating the thoughts into reality. I express my gratitude to all those who have contributed towards it, the Teaching, Non – teaching staff and a host of well-wishers.
  • As I come to the close of the annual report, I bow in gratitude to the Ever – Loving God who has been there with us in all our endeavors. It is He who gives us the wisdom to channelize our energy and effort in moulding the youth of the nation who enter the portals of Sree Abiraami Land.
